This piece was designed by placing the three circular patterns into a grid. After placement, parts of the individual units were altered, and color relationships were changed. Although the units are placed in an established regular grid, which is in itself symmetrical, the resulting design is asymmetrical. A focal point is established through the concentration of color, textural pattern and illusion of depth. The eye is drawn into the darkest concentration of colors.
