This project delves into the concept of architecture as a form of protective armor. My specific assignment involved crafting personalized armor for a fellow classmate, drawing inspiration from their passions and vulnerabilities. My exploration led me to investigate the dynamics of hiking, which, in turn, informed the design of a public space tailored for social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The outcome was a thoughtfully designed, self-shading seating area, offering a haven for social interaction while ensuring a safe and mandated 6-foot distance from others during a challenging period.
